Bill Yeats

MINERAL WELLS — Bill Yeats, 78, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, in Fort Worth.

Billy Joe Yeats was born Nov. 3, 1933, in Weatherford, son of the late Willie and Vanoy Cherry Yeats. Bill graduated with the class of 1953 from Weatherford High School and for the last number of years enjoyed eating and attending reunions with his classmates. He served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge. Bill made his career as an independent contractor in the oil field. Bill dearly loved his family but especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Bill was preceded in death by his sons, David Randall Yeats and Shannon Rae Yeats; parents; brother, Ellsworth Yeats; and sister, Oma Belle Peters.

Survivors include his daughters, Donna Sharp of Weatherford, Charla Townsend of Abilene, Mindi Motley and Brigitte McKennon both of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Robby, Tanner, K.T., Spencer, Aaron, Alyssa, and Will; great-grandchildren, Addison, Luke, and Kierra; brother, H.C. Yeats and wife, Wanda, of Weatherford; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in White’s Funeral Chapel, 101 NE 4th Ave., Mineral Wells.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the Yeats family suggests contributions in Bill’s memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284, or, the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
