Leona Stogdill

Leona Stogdill, age 76, of Weatherford, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 1, 2009, in a Fort Worth Hospital.

Born July 16, 1933, in Paris, Texas, a resident of Weatherford and Parker County for several years. She was a homemaker, beautician, member of the South Side Baptist Church and the ASPCA.

Leona was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Owen; son Paul Wayne Headrick; and a brother, Hassell Roden.

Survivors include her husband, Ivan Stogdill of Weatherford; daughters, Sherry Headrick of Weatherford, Ann Preston and husband, Tommy, of Weatherford, Lori Masters and husband, Jim, of Louisiana; sons, Wilye “Boots” Headrick and wife, Norine, of Anson, Aaron “Butch” Headrick of Weatherford, Lonnie Headrick and wife, Betty, of Alabama; stepchildren, James Ivan Stogdill and Carolyn Bruehl of Norman, Okla.; sisters, Myrtle Wimberley of Weatherford, Alta Brewer of Weatherford; brother, Bill Roden of Fort Worth; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment in Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home.
