Kellie Rutledge Wilson

Kellie Rutledge Wilson, life-time resident of Parker County and daughter of prominent real estate family, died at Baylor All Saints Hospital early Friday morning, Aug. 21, 2009, after a hard fought battle against cancer.

A graduate of Weatherford High School, she got her real estate license at 18, married Rick Wilson in 1988, and continued to work in real estate as an agent, a property manager, a title insurance escrow officer and as a paralegal. A respected business woman in her own right. Kellie was a member of the Central Christian Church.

Kellie was an avid community volunteer who served on various school committees, worked endless hours on charitable boards and supported the FFA and 4-H through her work with the Parker County Livestock Improvement Association. She was a people person who never met a stranger and who loved family, country living and kids, and she never missed an event with her husband and son in anything that involved the Cowboy Way.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; and son Reis; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie B. Rutledge; grandfather, Earl Kelley; brother, Eric and his wife, Amy, a dedicated and very special sister-in-law; and niece, Haley; and nephew, Chase; her mother and father- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Wilson; and a host of other close family relatives.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday at North Side Baptist church, officiated by Pam Holt. Interment in Buckner Cemetery.

Visitation was 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

On behalf of the family and friends, they wish to express their utmost appreciation to the seventh floor oncology nurses who gave her such good care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Kellie Wilson Scholarship Fund c/o of Parker County Livestock Improvement, Weatherford, Texas.
