Gaylia Davis

PLANO – Gaylia Davis, 75, formerly of Allen, died March 5, 2013, in Plano.

A memorial gathering is 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the home of Stacy and Scott Wasserman, 4665 Cowan Circle, Plano, TX 75024.

Gay was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Caddo Mills, Texas, to Johnnie and Ella Marie (Meeks) Glidewell. She made her home with husband Billy in Weatherford before relocating to Allen. Gay and Billy Jack Davis were married on Aug. 31, 1957, in Mineral Wells.

Gay received her bachelor’s degree from North Texas State College in Denton. She was an elementary school teacher, proudly served the Department of the Army for 11 years at Fort Wolters and retired as an executive assistant for a Fort Worth oil and gas company. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Weatherford. Gay lovingly provided 42 years of community service in Weatherford to the Parker County community through local politics and volunteerism. She also loved flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Wasserman and husband, Scott, of Plano; close personal friends, Larry, Elizabeth and Madeline LeBlanc; and sisters, Theresa Crosier and Johnell Smith, both of Mineral Wells.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack, who died June 10, 2009.
