Jim Slack, Sr.

WEATHERFORD —  

 

WEATHERFORD — Jim Slack, Sr., of Weatherford, lost a long battle with heart disease and kidney failure on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.

Mr. Slack was preceded by his mother and father, F.M. and Leta Kathryn Slack; brother, F.M. Slack, Jr. and sister, Marjory Evans and his wife and best friend, Christine Slack.

Jim was an army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. After leaving the service, he had a career of over 30 years as an aircraft engineer with General Dynamics in Fort Worth.

Survivors include his daughters, Candyce Adams and Janyce Slack; son, James Slack, Jr; four grandchildren, Amanda and Audrey Adams, Jamie Harrington and Jed Slack, and two great-grandchildren, Halle Harrington and Briggs Slack.

Jim was known and loved for his quick clever wit and love for his family, country music and fishing.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 11, 2012 at Rock Church Cemetery.
