Charlie Walter

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS — Charlie Walter, 75, passed away on July 11 in Arlington.

Charlie was born on May 31, 1937 to Dew and Gertrude Williams in Amarillo. She loved traveling with her husband Leo, who was her constant companion. Charlie also loved butterflies, gardening and her family. Charlie raised two children, but anyone close to those she loved were considered family. She never met a stranger, and anyone who knew her loved her without limit. Charlie was quick to laugh, easy to love, ready to lend an ear and slow to judge. She fluttered into our lives, brushing us all with her wings, and left tiny butterfly prints across our hearts. She was a shining example of how to be a friend, how to love others, how to empathize and how to get over it and get on with it. Our hearts are bigger for having loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Leo Walter; sons, Larry Holmes and wife Cindy, Doug Walter and wife Marcie, and Joe Paul Walter (deceased) and wife Vicki; daughters, Lori Ringo and husband Mike, Kaye Lynn McClure and husband Robin, and Melissa Hartness and husband Tim; grandchildren, Christian, Liz, Michael, Nick, Danny, Courtney, Lance, Adrienne, Matt, Frannie, Aaron (deceased), Heather, Amber, Kaylie and Joe; great-grandchildren, Aria, Shane, Madison, Eli, Ava, Ethan, Benjamin, Cole and Maddox; and other extended loving family members and too many friends to list.

A family gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlington Cancer Center via Cancer Care Services, 623 South Henderson, Ft. Worth, TX 76104 or cancercareservices.org.
