Dorothy Ann Newman, 87, of Weatherford, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in a Weatherford nursing center.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Newman was born June 25, 1925, in Bisbee, Ariz. She was a homemaker, charter member of Community Baptist Church and Daughters Republic of Texas. She loved sewing, cooking, reading, music, playing the harmonica and numerous other instruments and playing the piano at church.
Survivors include daughters, Bobbie Ann Barker and husband, Thomas, of Fort Worth, Rita Dawson and husband, Larry, of Grandview, Donna Lindley, of Weatherford, Helen Newman Fox, of Weatherford, and Martha Williams and husband, James, of Ennis; sisters, Violet Laux, of McNeal Ariz., Mildred Hare, of Alden, Iowa, and Betty Wolslagel, of Bisbee, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
