Alice Ann Hollis

Alice Ann Hollis, 87, died March 5, 2013.

Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rod Corder officiating. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Saturday. Burial is 10 a.m. Monday at Texhoma Cemetery with Rev. Steve Roach officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, TX 76086.

She was born June 19, 1925, in Texhoma, Okla., to Herman and Alice Boston Gens. Alice was a longtime resident of Texhoma. She also lived in Perryton, Texas, for nine years prior to moving to Weatherford in 2007. Alice was a member of Texhoma United Methodist Church and Past Worthy Matron of the Texhoma Order of the Eastern Star.

Alice leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Loretta Vick and husband, Clifford, of Weatherford; son, M.L. Hollis Jr. and wife, Mary, of Houston; grandsons, Jerrod Vick and wife, Melissa, of Austin, Travis Vick and Tyla Hairrell, of New Fairview, and Mark Hollis, of Houston; granddaughters, Haley Hollis, of Houston, and Melanie Hollis and Justin Cumberledge, of Houston; great-granddaughter, Taytum Schlarb-Vick, of Alva, Okla.; great-grandson, Blane Cumberledge, of Houston; sister, Elizabeth Cordray and husband, Calvin, of Jefferson City, Mo.; brother, John Rankin and wife, Beth, of San Antonio; 10 nephews; and four nieces.

She is preceded by her husband, Lafelle Hollis; parents, Herman and Alice Gens; sisters, Chloteal Woods and Oletha Ireland; and brother, Gerald Rankin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Texhoma United Methodist Church located at 301 West Main Texhoma, Oklahoma 73949 and Kids Against Hunger Parker County of Weatherford.
