WEATHERFORD —
Helen Bellenger, 94, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at a local care center.
Helen was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Salesville. She graduated from Peaster High School in 1936. Helen met and married Howard Bellenger in 1936 in Peaster and they began their life together. She worked as a librarian for 21 years at T. W. Stanley and Sam Houston Elementary schools. Helen was a proud member of the Tuesday Night Supper Club and also was a member of the First Baptist Church for 67 years. She also volunteered at Campbell Memorial Hospital for many years.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Bellenger; daughter, Joan Milburn; and grandson, Trecy Milburn.
Survivors include: son, Dana Bellenger and wife, Wendy; son-in-law, Al Milburn; grandchildren, Zack and Rachel Bellenger and Scott and Doug Milburn; great-grandchildren, Natalie Rogers, Jesse Milburn, Tanner and Macy Milburn; and great-great-granddaughter, Dakota Rogers.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Oakland Cemetery, Weatherford.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Weatherford Public Library, 1014 Charles St., Weatherford, TX 76086 or the Alzheimer’s Association-North Central, 2630 West Freeway, Suite 100, Fort Worth, TX 76102-9845.
