WEATHERFORD —
Nelta Kite Macy, 89, beloved wife, sister and friend to many, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at a local care center.
Nelta was born May 20, 1923, one of eleven children, to Rufus and Dell Kite in Snyder. She met Myron (Mike) Macy while they worked for Convair, now General Dynamics, in San Diego in 1942. They fell in love and married on January 24, 1943. Nelta and Mike lived in San Diego and Long Beach until they moved to Weatherford in 1998. Together they volunteered at Mana Storehouse for over ten years, helping their neighbors. At home, Nelta spent her spare time knitting many treasured items for her home, friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
Nelta is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Mike; one sister, Hiley Savage of Lamesa; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends and her church family.
Memorial Service: 3 p.m., Sept. 2, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 301 South Main Street, Weatherford
