Bill Shipley

 

WEATHERFORD — Bill Shipley passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2012.

Bill was born in Chico on July 24, 1936, to Albert and Zelma Shipley. After graduating from high school, he spent four years in the U.S. Air Force. In 1954, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruby Polk. He recently retired from Lockheed Martin after more than 27 years of service.

Bill was always so proud of his children and grandchildren, and loved teasing and joking around with family and friends. He was truly one of the good guys and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Ruby Polk Shipley; children, Rick Shipley and wife, Teresa, Ron Shipley and wife, Nancy, and Traci Shipley; brothers, John and James Queen; sister, Lee Daniels; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Graveside service: 1 p.m. Thursday in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy. 277, Abilene, 79606. 

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
