WEATHERFORD —
Lacy Wayne Gomillion, age 62, of Weatherford, entered the gates of Heaven Sunday afternoon, Aug. 12, 2012 at his residence.
Born Sept. 15, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Lacy was a resident of Weatherford for many years. Lacy graduated from Graham High School in 1968 where he was a great football player. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps. where he served in the Vietnam War. He sold produce in California (where he met his wife Cindy), before retiring as produce manager for Albertsons in Weatherford. He was an ordained minister, Sunday School teacher and member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Weatherford. Lacy loved serving the Lord and spending time with his family. His first love was soul winning. Every time he had to get chemotherapy treatments, he would be witnessing to other patients and staff. He has touched so many lives, even to the end.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Gomillion, of Weatherford; daughters, Erica Kieffer and partner Charlie Winder, Lacee Densmore and husband Jacob and Jourden Farwig and husband Chris, all of Weatherford; son, Kevin Gomillion, of Weatherford; parents, Howard and Ann Gomillion, of Graham; sister, Laura Brown and husband Charlie, of Graham; brothers, Wade Gomillion and wife Elain, of Rule, and Gary Gomillion, of Graham; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Bowie. Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard.
