Ann Connaway

WEATHERFORD —  

WEATHERFORD — Ann Connaway, 74, longtime resident of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, surrounded by family at her home in Weatherford.

Anna Carol Connaway was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Wichita, Kan., daughter of the late Warren William and Mildred Elsie Bennett. Among the achievements Ann was proud of were her association with the Weatherford YMCA as co-founder and the Tops N Texas Award presented by Shirley Temple Black in 1971. Ann married Harmon Lee Connaway on Aug. 1, 1960. She was the band manager of the Sensations.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rachel Orsak.

Survivors include her husband, Harmon Lee Connaway; sons, John Kent Connaway and James Kelly Davis; grandchildren, Jakob Kale Connaway and Kristan Lucas; great-grandchildren, Cash and Hudson Lucas; niece, Linda Ann Brown, all of Weatherford; nephews, Corky Connaway of Santo and Kevin Jordan of Weatherford; and a host of loving friends. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Oakland Cemetery, North Mill Street and Estel Street, Weatherford. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White’s Funeral Home.
