Julianna “Julie” Bruce Kallemeyn

 

WEATHERFORD — Julianna “Julie” Bruce Kallemeyn, 90, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at E. Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston St., Weatherford, 76086.

Memorials: First Baptist Church in Weatherford, 306 Palo Pinto St., Weatherford, 76086.

Julie was born Jan. 25, 1923, to Earl P. Bruce and Leona Bruce in Weatherford. She was happily married to the love of her life, E.H. “Lon” Kallemeyn, for 54 years. She graduated from Weatherford High School and earned her degree from Weatherford College.

Julie loved attending her high school and college class reunions every year to catch up with old friends. She also loved being a member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, the Newcomers Club, the Women’s Club, the Retired Teachers Association and the Weatherford College Alumni Association. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends, who all loved receiving her words of praise, laughter, comfort or good wishes in her handwritten cards and letters.

Julie was predeceased by her parents, Earl P. and Leona Bruce; sister, Mildred Bruce Tanner; and her husband, E.H. “Lon” Kallemeyn.

Survivors: children, Bruce Kallemeyn and wife, Vicki, of Poolville, Britt Kallemeyn and wife, Clara, of Granbury, Karen Stephens and husband, Keith, of Texarkana; brother, Earl P. Bruce Jr. of Houston; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
