Charlsie Wood Dixon

CORPUS CHRISTI – Charlsie Wood Dixon, 88, a longtime resident of Corpus Christi, died peacefully at home Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, after a long illness.

Graveside service is 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. 

Charlsie was born in Somerton, Ariz., on Jan. 17, 1925, and spent her childhood and a great number of her adult years as a resident of Weatherford. Charlsie was a devoted mother who provided love and support for her family. She was happiest spending time with her family, enjoying the simple things in life.

She is survived by her four children, Mike (Jimmie Nell) Dixon, Pat (Marie) Dixon and Jim Dixon, of Corpus Christi, and Betty Dixon, of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Andrea (Harris) Phillips, Lori (Bryan) Holland, Kevin (Janet) Dixon and Caitlin Dixon; five great-grandchildren, Thomas Holland, Hunter Holland, Haylee Higgins, Zachariah Higgins and Emma Dixon; sister, Nancy (Richard) Howard; and extended family, Angela, Brady, Jack and Ben Anders and Emily, Mark, Matthew and Anna Leber.
