George Walter Hubbard

WEATHERFORD — STEPHENVILLE — George Walter Hubbard, 77, of Stephenville, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Stephenville.

George was born on May 2, 1935 in Lipan to the late George Arthur and Iris Williamson Hubbard. He married Gennyce Taylor, Jan. 5, 1956. George was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the First United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge. He owned and operated Stephenville Supply for over 35 years. After many years in Weatherford, George and Gennyce moved to Stephenville 35 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Gennyce; son, Charles and wife, Sally Hubbard of San Antonio; daughters, Gena and husband, Dwayne Opella of Weatherford, and Paula and husband, Carlos Guerra of Salt Lake City; sister, Bel and husband, J. Pat Wise of Weatherford; and grandchildren, Meagan, Taylor, Chris, Lucia, Jessie, John and Noelia.

A visitation for the Hubbard family will be Saturday, July 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stephenville Funeral Home.  George was cremated.
