WEATHERFORD — Melton Lee McCowen, 69, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.
Melton was born Oct. 8, 1943 to the late Charley and Rosa McCowen in Vernon. He was a longtime resident of Parker County. Melton was a custom spur and bit maker and was an avid hunter. He was a life member of the N.R.A.
Melton was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James.
Survivors: wife, Kay McCowen of Weatherford; sons, Michael McCowen and wife, Deana, of Canadian, Darrell Wayne McCowen of Chillicothe, Wade McCowen and wife, Maria, of Fort Worth and Shawn Studer and Cathy Sweeney, of Weatherford; sister, Louise Wright of Arizona; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many loving friends.
At Melton’s request, there will not be a service.
