Larry Tunnell

Larry Tunnell, 70, died Jan. 25, 2013, in Weatherford.

Service will be at First Baptist Church, 306 Palo Pinto St., in Weatherford on Tuesday, Jan. 29, time to be determined, with a burial service in Weatherford immediately following. Please contact White’s Funeral Home at 817-596-4811 for more information on service time and visitation.

He was born in Littlefield, Texas. Larry was an active member in the community of Earth, Texas, where he served as mayor and was active in the Lions Club and then in Weatherford as a member of the Weatherford Evening Lions Club. He felt it was an honor and a duty to be involved in the community and was involved in many community projects. He was always willing to give back to the community, whether it was through giving his time, purchasing raffle tickets or other ways to give back.

He and Sharon were married Nov. 4, 1961. They celebrated their 51st anniversary in 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Tunnell; two brothers, Jerry Tunnell, of Mineral Wells, and Gene Tunnell, of Earth, Texas; four children, Stephanie Jones, of Slaton, Stacy Miller, of Austin, Jason Tunnell, of Georgetown, and Jocelyn Simms, of Carroll, Ohio, and their spouses; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
