STEPHENVILLE – Alfred Edd “Pampaw” Anthony, 90, of Stephenville, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Stephenville.

No funeral or memorial service per Al’s request.

Al was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Weatherford to the late Alfred Edmund Anthony and Cora Mae Scott. Al grew up there as a child as well as in Mineral Wells. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a flight mechanic then on to work in the general aviation industry. His career then transitioned to the Federal Aviation Administration, leading he and Shirley to live in Washington, Hawaii, California, Oklahoma and Texas before retiring in 1987. He then found residence in Stephenville while continuing to ranch in the Hico and Carlton areas and enjoyed ranching, golfing and watching football. Al was a Mason/Shriner, a longtime member of American Chianina Association and member of Hico First United Methodist Church.

Al was a man of honor, integrity, and was a kind hearted man. He was always there for his family and friends.  Al believed in hard work and enjoyed having fun. Dad and Pampaw, we will miss you. Thank you for always being there for us. Rest in peace.
