Sue Shields

WEATHERFORD —

Sue Shields, 85, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, in a Fort Worth hospital.

Sue was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Pioneer, Texas, to Herbert Payne and Minnie Lee Marlin.

Sue loved to cook and play cards, dominoes and board games. She enjoyed Sunday school and loved the Lord. Sue enjoyed spending time with family and sharing memories with grandchildren. She and her late husband, Garland, who worked in the oil fields, traveled around the world twice together until his retirement in 1983.

Sue was also preceded in death by a son, Garland Jr.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Graham and husband, Jerry, and Valta Faye Nelson and husband, Roger; four granddaughters, Melissa Griffith, Kirsten Simenson, Michelle Farr and Vanessa Griffith; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Dee Wilkenson.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Laurel Land Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
