AUSTIN — Reminiscent of a Region II playoff game, the Brock Lady Eagles faced a worthy opponent Saturday, against Wall High’s Lady Hawks, in the Class 2A Girls Basketball Championship game, played at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Although Brock enjoyed a nine-point halftime lead, Wall’s defense closed the gap to set up a nailbiter toward the end of the contest, but the Lady Eagles prevailed to take the 2A crown in a low-scoring title game, 38-33.
