Babineaux selected top defensive player of the week

WEATHERFORD —

Former Weatherford student-athlete, Ashley Babineaux is making good on her commitment to attend and play volleyball at Hardin-Simmons University.

The HSU Libero was named the American Southwest Conference (ASC) Defensive Player of the Week last week, after recording a pair of 22-dig matches for the Cowgirls in ASC play.

Now in her junior year at HSU, Babineaux has, in the 2012-13 season, helped lead the Cowgirls to 11-straight match wins while compiling a 9-0 conference record (15-3 overall). HSU has also won 45-straight home-court matches.
