Middle schools fill night with football

WEATHERFORD — Weatherford’s middle school football teams provided a full evening of football action, as squads from Hall and Tison seventh and eighth grades played.

The Hall White and Blue seventh-grade football teams played in Burleson Tuesday. The White team’s game ended in a 0-0 tie. Leading the White team on offense was Chris Whitling at the quarterback position. On the defensive side, Cordell Morgan and Devon Smith played well.

The Blue team lost to Burleson 28-0. Offensive players of the game were Colton Bigham, Ridge Cain, and Jace Ford. Defensive players of the game were Jace Ford on the defensive line and Colton Bigham at linebacker. The seventh-grade football teams will be traveling to Aledo to face the Bearcats next week.

The A team defeated the Colts, 20-8. The offense was led by Brock Riebe, Caleb Frysinger, and Kent Sanner. The defense was led by Scott Nesky, Jay Powell, and Seth Cooke.

The defense pitched a shutout, lead by Billy Boyle and Justis McCreary on the defensive line, and Tanner Bowman and Shawn Reed in the secondary. The win improves the White team record to 1-0-1.
