A sparse-scoring third quarter dropped Weatherford’s boys off the pace Friday in a 61-44 non-district loss to Arlington Bowie.



Lady Roos fall to Granbury

Weatherford’s Mack Lankford scored 19 points in a losing effort Friday as the Lady Pirates offense caught fire early and beat the WHS girls, 63-26.



Eagles slip by Lipan

The Brock Eagles boys varsity improved to 2-0 Friday with a 60-54 win over Lipan. Leading by seven at the half, the Eagles maintained the margin in an early-season battle against their former 1A basketball rival.



Brock girls lose close contest to Horn at Flower Mound

Staff report

The Lady Eagles fought back from a first quarter deficit to tie 5A Mesquite Horn at the end of the third period, but fell just short in the contest, losing 43-42 in their second game at the Flower Mound basketball tourney.

Brock’s Kenisha Harris led he Lady Eagles’ scoring with 14 points, while Paige Parliament added 13. The loss set up a meeting with Trinity on Saturday.

Tison girls mix it up with Joshua

The eighth-grade girls basketball team took on Joshua in three exciting games, Thursday. The C team won, 23-21. Ashley Mohr led all scorers with 13 points, followed by Julia Arenz with eight and Erin Hailey with two. The B team lost a very close game 24-22. Zayna Richardson led Tison scoring with eight points, followed by Jessica Stults, Madison Mullins and Hailey Reed with four each. Karley Robertson added two points. Emily Rich and Camille Carry put in a fine defensive effort. The A team capped the night with a 40-31 win. Melissa Hawkins led all scoring with 22 points. Hayley Wellen added six, with Remi Reynolds and Lauren Leach scoring four points each. Kelsey Allen added a two. The defense was led by Nicole Carr.
