  • WFord Soccer Sr. Nite Roos lose in shootout to North Crowley, still gain playoff berth

    Losing in a shoot out was not something the Weatherford Kangaroos has planned on Friday night, falling to North Crowley, 1-0. However, the sting of the loss was countered by the knowledge that the Roos will still retain a spot in the playoffs in District 3-5A.

    ALEDO — Like many high school athletes, Aledo’s Dillon Hawkins dreamed about playing at the next level. On Wednesday, Hawkins got his chance, signing a letter-of-intent to play football and attend Lindenwood University, a four-year liberal arts institution located in St. Charles, Mo., 62,000 miles west of St. Louis.
