Ruzgas leads TCU to 85-80 win over Texas Tech
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Edvinas Ruzgas scored 24 points to lead TCU to an 85-80 victory over Texas Tech on Tuesday night.
TCU (10-5) led by as much as 16 with 11:37 left in the game, but Tech battled back to cut the lead to four with 5:00 left with the help of Mike Singletary and TCU’s foul troubles. Singletary scored 22 points, 10 of those from the free-throw line. TCU finished with 20 fouls.
Back-to-back 3-point shots by Ruzgas and Keion Mitchell gave TCU a 72-64 lead, effectively putting the game out of reach for Texas Tech (10-5).
Kevin Langford scored 14 points for TCU, leaving him one point shy of 1,000 points in his career.
Alan Voskuil also scored 22 for Texas Tech. Nick Okorie had 13 and John Roberson 11.

Peaster pair to play in All-Star game
Peaster seniors Clayton Brown and Courtney Haney have been invited to participate in the 11th Texas Roundup All-Star Game March 20 in Maypearl. The Texas Roundup, considered to be one of the state’s most prestigious events, selects the state’s top 24 boys and 24 girls from Class 1A, 2A and 3A schools.

DENVER – University of Hawaii men’s basketball forward Roderick Flemings, a former Weatherford College player, has been chosen as an honorable mention selection to the all-Western Athletic Conference team for the 2009-10 season. This is Flemings’ second straight year to earn All-WAC honors.
