Weatherford girls hit the pitch running, and scoring

With the varsity girls coming off of a playoff appearance last year, both of the WHS girl’s soccer teams have gotten off to a very quick start this season. Friday, the Lady Roos squads traveled to Cedar Hill, coming back home with two victories. The junior varsity team won the early game 1-0, with the goal coming from Emma Knesk. The varsity game followed, with the Lady Roos winning, 4-2. Katie Kuykendall had a hat-trick, scoring three goals, with Blyss Stewart adding a goal of her own. Tuesday, the Lady Roos hosted Granbury at Hall Field and had another successful outing. The JV won 5-0, with goals from Joanna Jaime, Meghan Williams, Emma Knesek, Shelby Way, and Paige Hendrix. The varsity girls won again in the night cap, 3-0, with two goals from Haley Crandall and a third by Katie Kuykendall. The Lady Roos travel to Grapevine Tuesday in a scheduled non-district matchup against state-ranked Colleyville-Heritage.
