Brock newbie named Coach of the Year

In her rookie season as the Brock head softball coach, Sara Williamson nabbed top honors as the Texas high school All-State 2A's Coach of the Year. She joins ace Linsey Hays, who was selected player of the year.
The Lady Eagles beat Hallettsville 3-0 to capture the Class 2A state crown in Austin.
Williamson is a native of Weatherford.
Football camps scheduled for area boys

WISD Community Education is partnering with Weatherford High School Coaches to offer football camps in the next few weeks for area boys. Campers will learn the WHS offensive and defensive fundamentals through individual, group and team drills.
The Kangaroo PeeWee Football Camp for boys in grades 1-6 (Fall, '09) will be held at the WHS Outback Monday through Wednesday, July 6-8, from 6-8 p.m. Older boys going into grades 7-9 are invited to register for the camp which will be held Monday through Wednesday, July 13-15.
All campers must pre-register through the Community Ed Office, located at 602 W. Water Street, or register online at http://comed.weatherfordisd.com.
The camp fee is only $35.
