The Weatherford College women’s basketball team remains tied for first place in the conference standings after an important win Saturday in Temple. The Lady Coyotes handed Temple College their first home conference loss, 78-66.
Sophomore post Cleyder Blanco turned in 17 points and 14 rebounds for WC. The Lady Coyotes out-rebounded Temple 48 to 34.
Weatherford and Collin remain tied for first place in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference at 6-1. The Lady Coyotes are 15-4 overall.
The WC men are looking for their first conference win after a 89-59 loss at Temple.
Both WC teams travel to Waco to face McLennan on Wednesday, and return home against Southwestern Christian on Saturday, Feb. 9. Game times Saturday are 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Betty Jo Crumm Graber Athletic Center.
