With Brock set to encounter its first-round foe after press time on Saturday, the Aledo Ladycats and Springtown Lady Porcupines had already secured their respective places in the regional quarterfinal rounds.
Springtown improved to 29-3 on the overall season, but more importantly, is 1-0 in its second season after beating Llano on Thursday.
The Class 3A, Region I Area match was played in Stephenville, and saw the Lady Porcupines dominate the Lady Jackets in the first game and win the match in three, 25-14, 25-21, 25-22.
Pojo will meet Liberty Hill in the regional quarterfinal round, who eliminated Mineral Wells in a 3-game sweep on Friday. The match will be played at Waco Midway High School on Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. start.
Aledo head coach Kathy Goings has the Ladycats on another playoff run, a near-ritual for the Aledo volleyball program.
Dispatching Denton High on Friday in straight sets (25-10, 25-12, 25-13) in the area round, the Ladycats advance to meet Byron Nelson’s Lady Bobcats in the regional quarterfinals. Keller Central provides the venue on Tuesday, scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
Peaster’s postseason ended in the area round as they fell to Pilot Point in four games on Thursday.
