WEATHERFORD —
The 10U Texas Regulators, consisting of several area baseball players relaxed on the beach in Gulf Shores, Ala, the day before their bid for a USSSA Global World Series championship. Playing at the Orange Beach SportsPlex, the Regulators won the first of two Thursday games, beating the DS Gunns out of Louisiana, 18-2. Slated to play Alabama's Hoover Bucs in the afternoon match, the final score was not available at press time. The Texas team participated in the opening ceremonies on Wednesday and will play four games in pool play before being assigned their tournament seeding. Bracket play will commence on Saturday with a Global World Series Champion being crowned on Sunday.
