WEATHERFORD —
Tyler Lee basketball standout Bre Brooks has signed a national letter of intent to play at Weatherford College next season.
The 5-8 point guard started every game for Lee since her freshman year and averaged 18.9 points and 9.1 assists per game as a senior. As a junior, Brooks averaged 15 points per game, collected 88 steals and hit a team-leading 57 three-pointers.
“We didn’t have a point guard for next year, so to be able to get one of this caliber picks us up a notch,” said Bob McKinley, WC athletic director and basketball coach. “To get a Division I-type player this time of year is big.”
Brooks was recruited by Arizona, North Texas, and the University of Houston. She was a first team All-District 11-5A selection as a senior.
