Friday night futbol at Cartwright

WEATHERFORD —

The Weatherford Soccer Association  will have Cartwright park fields opened to anyone wanting to  simply play a fun,  friendly game of soccer or to brush up on their skills. There will be no coaching on the fields, as the sessions will be just for fun. Participants will be matched up by age and  will play another team of similar age.

Friday Night Futbol will begin on Friday and will be played each Friday through August. Games will be played from 7 p.m. til 8:30 p.m.

WSA representatives will be on location to oversee the games. WSA soccer players already signed up for Fall 2012 will be allowed to participate for free. But even those kids not registered will be eligible to play for a one-time $10 fee. Players are encouraged to bring friends for the fun of playing soccer.

Parents will need to sign up their kids in at the main gate. A parent escort or armbands (issued at the gate) are mandatory for entrance to the playing fields.  Kids will need to supply their own shin guards in order to play, and water bottles are strongly encouraged.
