WEATHERFORD —
With the cooling of the local climate coming soon, football will not be the only sport to be found in Parker County — nor is volleyball, tennis or cross country.
Annually, with a crop of new faces adorning the Weatherford College baseball roster, WC head coach Jeff Lightfoot and his staff begin work with the players to identify strengths, work to shore up weaknesses and, through a busy schedule of tourneys and games for the next couple of months, gauge the chemistry of a new group of Coyote baseball players.
Beginning a week from Friday, the Coyotes fall schedule begins, as they will play four games in two days in the Northeast Texas Community College Tournament. And in consecutive weeks thereafter, WC will travel to Duncanville for another two-day tourney, ending the tourney schedule by hosting its own event on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 20-21.
