Lady Roos clash with Wylie

Before heading off to play in the Granbury tourney this weekend, Weatherford varsity volleyball had an encounter with Abilene Wylie and came up short. The WHS girls avoided a sweep, but lost in four games, 18-25, 15-25, 25-18, 18-25.
Lexi Cassels and Lexi Garner led with kills, downing 12 and 10, respectively. Jordan Harvey had 14 assists and a pair of aces. Garner and Cassels also led in digs, recording 22 and 21. Hannah Wright added 17 digs. Hannah Winburn had two blocks.
Brock rocks to 9-1 start

With wins over West and Crawford to start its season, the Brock Lady Eagles varsity volleyball team cruised through pool and bracket play in the Grandview tourney last weekend, bowing only to Leon in the finale.
Recovering to sweep Brewer and Dublin, the 9-1 Lady Eagles entered the Brewer Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Springtown opens Peaster tourney with win over Maypearl

Rebecca Dauenhauer had seven kills to lead the Lady Porcupines over Maypearl on Friday, as Springtown won their opener at the Peaster Tournament, 25-9, 25-22.
Ciandra Seabourn led the Pojo defense with 15 digs, while Shelbi Meek provided her strikers with a dozen assists. Springtown was set to continue at the Peaster tourney over the weekend.
Weatherford team tennis at 3-3 on the young season

Led by new head coach Keeley McClarty, the Roos tennis team continues to get in playing time while prepping for district play.
Beginning their season with dominating play over Haltom (16-3) and Fossil Ridge (10-5), the team hit a rough stretch against stiffer competition, losing three in a row.
Bouncing back to top Denton Guyer 12-7, the Roos dropped to a 3-3 overall record with a loss to Mansfield on Wednesday. The girls doubles won at the 1, 2 and 3 spots.
The lone singles win came at the No. 1 girls spot, with freshman Gaby De Leon pulling out a close 8-6 victory.
The girls doubles teams of Kelsey Buczkowski/ Gaby De Leon, Ashley Mohr/ Alia Gammon and Morrow Nichols/Sarah Rhodes won their matches 8-4, 8-0 and 8-5, respectively.
