Brock, Millsap prep for team tennis tourney
Staff Report
Pool play begins on Friday for the regional team tennis tournament, with Brock, Whitney and Eastland playing at Brock High School in Pool 1. Millsap, White Oak and Whitesboro will comprise Pool 2, with its matches to be played at Mineral Wells High School. Pool matches at both locations will be at 8 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and will be concluded on Friday.
On Saturday, respective pool winners will play at Brock, with second-place teams at Mineral Wells and the third-place pool finishers at Millsap. All of the Saturday matches begin at 8 a.m.
If needed, playback matches will be played at Brock at 1 p.m., unless an earlier time is agreed upon.
WC - New Mexico set for weekend series
Staff Report
Coyotes baseball returns home on Friday and Saturday, hosting a non-conference, 3-game series with New Mexico College.
Originally slated for a 6 p.m. start on Friday, the opener has been moved up to 3 p.m., when WC and the Thunderbirds will play a 9-inning contest.
Saturday’s start remains at 1 p.m. The teams will play a 9-inning/7-inning double header.
The starting rotation has been announced by the WC coaches for the series. Justin Garcia will take the mound on Friday, with Jacob Stone climbing the hill for Saturday’s first game. Trevor Simms will start in the nightcap.
