WC baseball starts 3-0

The Weatherford College baseball team had a successful opening weekend, starting the season 3-0 in a trip to Lufkin Friday and Saturday. The Coyotes defeated Wharton County 6-1 and Angelina College 5-1 on Friday. On Saturday, WC followed up with another win over Angelina, 6-3.
Weatherford High School graduate Trooper Reynolds made an impact in his debut weekend for WC, going 3-for-3 against Wharton and then 2-for-3 Saturday against Angelina.
Pitcher Jacob Stone earned the win over Wharton, giving up just one run over four and one-third innings with four strikeouts, two walks and three hits. Trevor Simmons earned the victory against Angelina Friday, allowing three hits, one earned run and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings. Justin Garcia picked up the win out of the bullpen Saturday with three strikeouts and one hit in three innings.
The Coyotes open at home Friday and Saturday in a series against Midland. Game time is 5 p.m. Friday and a noon doubleheader Saturday at Roger Williams Ballpark.
Roo wrestlers advance to Region I tourney

The Weatherford wrestling team traveled to Amarillo last weekend for the District 2-5A meet, placing third overall and advancing all team members to the regional tournament
Weatherford place third over all as a team, advancing everyone to the regional tournament.
