As Week 0 creeps ever closer, area teams are preparing for the looming regular football schedule with scrimmages on Friday.
Weatherford entertains Ennis at Roo Stadium, with the Freshman slated for a 5 p.m. start. The junior varsity will scrimmage at 6 p.m. and the varsity will face off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m.
Denton Guyer travels to Aledo, with the freshman and JV scrimmages set for 5:30 p.m. The frosh will scrimmage at the Aledo Freshman Campus practice field, with the JV at Bearcat Stadium. The varsity takes the field at 7 p.m. Admission to the scrimmage will be a donation to the Texas High School Coaches Association's Benevolence Fund. The fund provides aide to students who are injured while participating in high school sports.
After hosting its first scrimmage at Porcupine Stadium last Saturday, Springtown travels to Frisco for an encounter with Heritage High School. The varsity is slated for a 7 p.m. start, with the JV and freshman teams beginning at 6 p.m.
Millsap had their first scrimmage at Perrin on Saturday and return home on Friday to host Bowie. The junior varsity gets an early start, at 5 p.m., with the varsity to follow at 6 p.m.
Brock's JV teams also get into the act on Friday, with the gold and blue squads traveling to match up against Perrin's junior varsity.
