Tison comes up short against Owls

The 7th grade Tison basketball team played Joshua Monday night. The red team lost a close game, making a late charge but falling short, 12-10. The leading scores were Ian McKinley with four points and Luke Landon with three. The white team played a tough game, but also came out a little short, 29-24. Leading the way for the Roos was Stephen Cantrell with six points. Jay Cannon dominated the boards with 10 rebounds. The blue game would be a fight to the finish. The Roos were down by three points with 40 seconds on the clock, when Bryant Huggins stepped up and made a three to tie the game. With the score 30-30, the Owls made the last shot with four seconds left on the clock to defeat the Roos 32-30. The top scores were Bryant Huggins and Hunter Hull with eight points. The white and blue teams will be traveling to Crowley Monday.
Tison B team takes second in tourney

The Tison 7th grade girls B team played in the Hall tournament this weekend. The tournament started on Friday when the Lady Roos took on Joshua. It was a tough loss 39-20, but all of the girls worked very hard. Brianna Davis led in points with eight points, Emma Beaird had six points, Alissa Cocke had four points and Kristin Kelly had two points. Saturday, Tison went head-to-head with Burleson Hughes, where Tison dominated the court with a final score of 29-4. Beaird had nine points, Meredith Dickey had six points, Cocke and Davis both had four points, Alyse Scoggins had three points and Jada Lewis had two points. The next and final game, the Lady Roos battled Brewer getting a victory with a final score of 35-14. Cocke had 12 points, Beaird and Rachel Elbers each had five points, Scoggins and Laramie Walton each had four points, Kelly had three points and Davis had two points. The 7th grade B team came home from the tournament with the consolation prize.
On Monday night, the 7th grade Lady Roos traveled to Summer Creek. The B team crushed the Lady Colts with a final score of 27-13. Cocke led the offense with seven points, Davis had six points, Scoggins and Walton each had four points, and Dickey and Kelly each had two points. The Colts put up a good fight, but the Lady Roos’ hard work, determination, and fair play paid off in the end. The A team had a good start to the game, but fell short in the end with a final score of 19-14. Kelsey O’Brien and Abby Maberry led the offense each with three points, and Tasha Glaub, Morgan Messinger, Cooper Mullins, and Brittany Wilson each had two points.
