    After a 5-year hiatus, Aledo softball will be one of four Class 4A teams taking the field at the UIL State Softball Tournament this Friday — hoping for an encore on Saturday.

    ABILENE - Two runs were more than enough for the Aledo Ladycats Saturday as they shut out Frenship 2-0 to win the Class 1-4A region 2-0 and advance to the state tournament next week in Austin.

  • 0525 WISD-CommEd BBk 5/6-grade 1st Horned Frogs WISD CommEd Boys basketball — Spring League 5th-6th-grade winners announced

    The WISD Community Ed Department offers a spring basketball league to area boys and girls. The offering is a developmental league to better prepare players for future school sports. The Spring Season came to a close recently, with a tournament held at Hall Middle School.

    The Aledo Ladycats moved a step closer to a return to Austin on Friday, facing Wolfforth Frenship at Abilene Christian University’s Poly Wells Field. The Class 4A, Region I best-of-three series winner earns a berth in the UIL state tournament.

    The WISD Community Education Volleyball League recently concluded its spring session. The league had record numbers in participation, with more teams joining the volleyball preparatory league from surrounding areas.
