Heather Henson a shoe-in for All-Parker County Volleyball Team

WEATHERFORD —

CORRECTION: Poolville senior Heather Henson not only led the Lady Monarchs to a playoff berth in her final season of prep volleyball, she received top billing in All-District awards for District 8-1A, selected the Most Valuable Player.

Due to a clerical error in compiling the 2012 All-Parker County Volleyball Team, Henson was inadvertently omitted from the roster. The senior, who also received tournament awards in the pre-district season, is a solid choice for the APC First Team, joining a list of talented performers on the volleyball court.

The Democrat Sports Department regrets the error. The revised 2012 APC Volleyball Team has been posted on the Democrat website at www.weatherforddemocrat.com through the Sports link.

Millsap’s Lauren Power perhaps exemplifies the definitive ‘student-athlete.’ During her prep career, the senior could be found applying her athletic skills in a variety of venues — and she was not merely filling a Lady Bulldog uniform, either — quite the contrary.
