Area sports schedule — Week of February 11

—

Staff Report

It is basketball playoff time and three area girls teams are in action on Monday with more to come, as Brock and Poolville wait for opponents surviving bi-district play. Weatherford, Aledo and Springtown enter postseason on Monday, hoping to extend their respective seasons to the next round.

The boys cagers, or those not drawing a bye, wrap up district schedules by Tuesday, with Brock and Peaster  shifting their district finales to Monday. Poolville, Brock Peaster and Springtown have clinched playoff berths, and Aledo is still in the mix. The Bearcats may be facing a play-in game, if they win and Granbury loses, which is a likely scenario considering each teams’ opponent on Tuesday.

Area prep baseball teams are still scrimmaging, but the softball gets into pre-district schedules in earnest, with most playing in tourneys Thursday through Saturday. Weatherford College softball and baseball are well into respective non-conference schedules, as well.
