Weatherford College’s diverse roster set for national stage
For most athletes at the college level, postseason games have likely been experienced already, in varying degrees. In its second year of existence, the Weatherford College softball team is about to provide for its players another postseason experience to perhaps outstrip all previous moments of athletic glory.

Regional semifinals scheduled for Aledo, Brock softball
Aledo’s young women go west this week, seeking additional fortune in the state softball playoffs. The Class 4A, Region I semifinal series will match District 7 champion Aledo against the District 1 winner El Paso Chapin’s Lady Huskies, who eliminated Plainview in two games last weekend.

Game 2 of the Class 4A, Region I quarterfinal between Aledo and Burleson Centennial on Saturday lacked the white-knuckling drama of Friday’s 12-11 Ladycats’ win, but the result was the same.

Coyotes exit regional tourney after 4-1 loss to New Mexico
The Weatherford College baseball team out-stroked the New Mexico Thunderbirds, nine hits to five, but could not translate safe passage on base to round trips, as the Coyotes fell to the West Conference team at Quik Trip Park in Grand Prairie on Monday, 4-1.

Barn-burner score fest ends with Aledo walk-off in Game 1
By the time the Burleson Centennial hitters began to figure out Aledo’s Lauren Craine, the Lady Spartans were already down by five runs in the Class 4A Region I Quarterfinal softball contest. Centennial’s first 13 batters were sent back to the dugout without success as Craine put the ball in play and the Aledo defense answered.

At each of Brock’s celebrations for student-athletes who are extending respective career’s and education at the college level, the head coaches will often begin the precedings with words about the honoree, and as one would expect, always complimentary.
