PET OF THE WEEK: Shane hopes to shepherd a new home

Meet Shane. He is a sharp-looking young adult German shepherd mix. He is calm, quiet and doesn’t seem to be bothered by other dogs.

Shane has already been neutered and ready to go home today. Shane has been at the Animal Shelter for nearly three months now and is really looking forward to his new permanent home, where he can relax and be loved. Shane is really hoping he can find his new family before Christmas.

If you might be interested in Shane or any of his other friends, they can be visited at the Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday and Friday until 6 p.m. You can also visit the Animal Shelter’s website and see all of Shane friends at www.weatherfordtx.gov/animal.

For the month of December, WPCAS is running our Santa-Paws special. That makes all dogs and cats just $40 through the end of the month. This covers their sterilization, vaccinations, microchip, and all the free love he will bring to your family.

For those who can’t adopt but would still like to help, the Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter always appreciates donations of cat litter, dog food, cat food, trash bags, cleaning supplies, and as well as monetary donations.
