Capital murder suspect arrested

PARKER COUNTY —

A suspect who reportedly implicated himself in the homicide of Parker County resident Linda Surginer Preston has been arrested, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office.
Hector Trejo, 28, was arrested Friday night on a parole violation warrant and charged with capital murder of 47-year-old Preston,  who was found dead by her husband in her living room late Thursday afternoon with multiple stab and cut wounds to her neck.
Preston rented the home in the 1600 block of Wildwood Trail from Trejo's parents.
Preston's car was noticed missing and a knife found in the yard.
There were no signs of forced entry, though the back door was found open, according to the sheriff's office.
"The initial investigation indicated the suspect was involved in her death,” Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said. “A follow-up investigation by the Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division and the U.S. Marshals Task Force led investigators to the recovery of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was subsequently apprehended at an apartment complex near Las Vegas Trail and Calmont Street in Fort Worth."
"The suspect was further interviewed by the Texas Rangers and CID investigators," Fowler said. "During those interviews, the suspect implicated himself in the death of Linda Surginer Preston. According to the suspect, an argument ensued between the victim and the suspect regarding Trejo wanting to use the victim’s vehicle and her refusal.”
Trejo was recently paroled from the Texas Department of Corrections after a 2010 robbery conviction.
Authorities expect to make an additional arrest on a charge of making a false report to a peace officer, according to Fowler.
