Weatherford Parks & Recreation holiday schedule

The City of Weatherford Parks and Recreation Department would like for residents and visitors to be aware of closings in relation to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

In observation of the Christmas holiday the Parks and Recreation offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25. Offices will also be closed on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1. For after-hour emergencies, call 817-598-4300.

Chandor Gardens will be closed Saturday, Dec. 22, through Tuesday, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1. Please note that the garden will be open Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Monday, Dec. 31, with the following hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-4 p.m.

As we look toward the New Year, don’t miss a 155-year-old tradition, the First Monday Trade Days.

First Monday is held at Heritage Park the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the first Monday of every month. The first event for 2013 is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 4-Sunday, Jan. 6.
