Weatherford College board of trustees approve new tuition and fees schedule

At its regular March meeting on Thursday, the Weatherford College Board of Trustees approved a new schedule of tuition and fees effective for the 2013-14 academic year.

Beginning with the fall 2013 semester, tuition for in-district Parker County residents is $76 per semester hour, a $5, or 7 percent, increase; out-of-district rates will increase by $11 per semester hour to $118 and out-of-state will increase by $9 to $173 per semester hour.

In discussions on the tuition hikes, trustees specifically mentioned a unanimous desire to not increase to local taxes. College officials said the new tuition schedule will keep WC’s rates at the state average among community colleges.
