Dispute over horses, property ends in man stabbed

AZLE – Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating a disturbance call that ended with one man hospitalized.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the incident was reported Wednesday in the 800 block of Nation Drive, in Azle shortly after 7 p.m.

A man reported to deputies that he was called by the property owner to come and remove his horses and belongings from the property.

The horse owner brought several witnesses with him to the scene and began removing his property when the property owner accused him of stealing her property.

One of the female witnesses told dispatchers the female property owner began assaulting her and the horse owner. She also reported the property owner’s son was on his way to the residence and may have a weapon.

According to witness accounts, when the property owner’s son arrive, he displayed a shotgun and pointed it at several people on scene. An argument between the property owner’s son and the horse owner led to a physical altercation between the men over the weapon. The weapon was removed from the property owner’s son but the physical altercation continued between the men. The property owner’s son was stabbed during the altercation.

The woman’s son was taken to a Fort Worth hospital by air ambulance, and was reported to have suffered multiple stab wounds.

The horse owner was detained for further questioning, but later released. No arrests have been made at this time, pending the investigation.

The stabbing victim was reported in critical condition as of this morning.
