East Parker wins award for teamwork

East Parker County — Six Parker County cities received an award from the North Central Texas Council of Governments Friday for their joint negotiation of a new solid waste services contract, according to a press release from the City of Hudson Oaks.

The cities — Aledo, Hudson Oaks, Willow Park, Annetta, Annetta North and Annetta South, held down service costs for their residents and allowed the addition of recycling services through collective bargaining, the release states.

According to the release, the event marks the first time the Regional Cooperation Award has been awarded in Parker County.
