— The Class 2A Brock Lady Eagles won their eighth overall basketball state championship, and a state-record five in a row, in defeating the Merkel Badgers, 40-32, in Austin.
Brock was led by senior transfer Braylee Flaska who registered 16 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Eagles finish their season with a 35-5 record while Merkel ends its year with just its second loss at 38-2.
